April 29–May 9, 2017

Sea Cloud II

Sun-soaked beaches, sparkling marinas and glamorous people are just some of the charms of the French Riviera that unfold before us as we visit Nice, Cannes, Monte Carlo and St-Tropez. Golfers will play at some of the region’s most notable courses, including the Monte Carlo Golf Club, while touring passengers enjoy stylish St-Paul-de-Vence and splendid Monaco. As we continue our journey through the Riviera, don’t be surprised by the attention we get as our sailing yacht makes port in the impressive fortress-like harbor of Bonifacio and, just eight miles to the south, the beautiful natural environment of Costa Smeralda. Memorable golf awaits on Corsica at Golf de Sperone and on Sardinia at Pevero Golf Club. Our host vessel for this voyage is Sea Cloud II, a ship that captures the timeless elegance of sailing history and combines it with modern service and accommodations. Privately chartered for this journey, the ship provides a relaxing and gracious home away from home. With her spacious staterooms, elegant dining, fitness center and ample open deck areas, Sea Cloud II offers cruising at its finest. Once on board, we journey effortlessly, leaving the uncertainties of land travel behind. Whether playing golf or exploring provincial villages with our experienced guides, sampling fine wines, shopping or exploring on your own in St-Tropez, you will experience unsurpassed personal attention, returning from your journey with new and enriched friendships and memories of a captivating experience

• Nice, France • Cannes Depart your home city on April 29 for an overnight flight to Nice, France. After your plane clears the last of the snow-capped Alps, look for the sun to reflect off the crystal blue waters of the Côte d’Azur. Welcome to the Riviera! You are greeted at the airport and transported to the five-star Hotel Majestic in Cannes. The afternoon is at your leisure until our welcome reception this evening.

May 1 2017

Cannes, France Golf: Royal Mougins Golf Club Within a tranquil landscape dotted with ancient stone walls, trees, rolling hills and a winding river, sits this Robert Von Hagge treasure. Royal Mougins is a masterpiece of design and routing, with a challenging variety of undulation and elevation change that will likely require creative use of every club in your bag. Well-measured approach shots will be key to a low score today as the oversize greens accentuate the hilly topography. Tour: Nice and Grasse Touring passengers visit Nice, then visit Grasse, world capital of the perfume industry. After a full day of golf or touring, you will have the evening free to sample the culinary specialties of the French Riviera.

May 2: 2017

Cannes • Embark Sea Cloud II Golf: Monte Carlo Golf Club Built in 1911, the Monte Carlo Golf Club is considered to be the Côte d’Azur’s most prestigious club. Located 900 meters above sea level on Mont Agel, this course features narrow fairways and a spectacular panorama. Tour: Monte Carlo and Monaco Touring passengers explore the exciting city of Monte Carlo. We drive by the Prince’s palace set high on the Rock of Monaco as well as the neoRomanesque cathedral where Princess Grace and Prince Rainier were married. After lunch, there is free time to explore and visit the casino.

May 3: 2017

St-Tropez, France We have time to experience St-Tropez, “The Pearl of the Riviera,” best known as a destination for the glamorous and illustrious. We’ll explore this idyllic town with its narrow, pastel streets and relaxed culture rooted in its heritage as a fishing village and artist’s refuge. Its allure is undeniable, having captured the likes of Matisse and Bardot.

May 4 2017

St-Raphaël, France Golf: Golf de Terre Blanche—Le Château Tucked away in the southeastern corner of Provence is this Dave Thomas designed course— Le Château. The course winds its way through pine and oak forests and up to elevated tees where views of French villages and the rocky peaks of the Alpes-Maritimes await. The course presents both technical challenges and charm with holes like number six where the green sits in the shadow of the course’s namesake castle. Tour: Antibes and St-Paul-de-Vence Founded in the 5th century as a Greek colony, coastal Antibes is one of the oldest cities on the Côte d’Azur. After strolling through the Old Town and Provençal market, we visit St-Paul-deVence, perhaps the most famous of France’s artist villages. St-Paul-de-Vence has a style and charm that is evident in its tile-roofed buildings and tiny, winding streets.

May 5 2017

Portovenere, Italy Sure to be a highlight of our Riviera Golf Cruise, Cinque Terre is a favorite among  guests. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is made up of five charming villages that sit suspended on the coastal cliffs of the Italian Riviera. The towns— Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore—are best accessed by boat. Aboard our private craft we will make stops in two of the villages where you can disembark to explore on your own, enjoying shopping, cafés, and soaking up the Italian coast.

Sit back and watch skilled deckhands scale the rigging and set the sails for our voyage. Sea Cloud II’s captain plans the course to take full advantage of the prevailing winds, allowing you to enjoy the ideal pace of travel. The sun-soaked Lido Deck provides a perfect setting for the day

May 7 2017:

Bonifacio, Corsica Golf: Golf de Sperone. Described by many as Robert Trent Jones Sr.’s “Jewel in the Mediterranean,” Golf de Sperone is well established as one of Europe’s best courses. The 16th hole may be the most memorable. Similar to the 18th at Pebble Beach, this hole is framed by 100-foot sea cliffs on one side. Tour: Bonifacio Those on tour visit the medieval city of Bonifacio. The town rises dramatically in tiers from the old port up to the Genovese citadel. The fortifications dominate the promontory and the dramatic limestone peninsula that rises on sheer cliffs from the sea.

May 8 2017:

Costa Smeralda, Sardinia Golf: Pevero Golf Club Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., Pevero Golf Club’s greens and fairways wind through the Sardinian hills among natural lakes and rock formations. The doglegs and water hazards will test any golfer’s accuracy. Tour: Costa Smeralda Touring passengers trace the path of the Aga Khan on a guided tour of Costa Smeralda, learning what led to the 1960’s development of this beautiful natural environment. Surrounded by emerald green water, gorgeous bays and granite rock and mountains, this coastal resort area is filled with posh hotels, shops, yacht marinas and villas that blend harmoniously into the landscape.
